Want to know what we're up to ? - You'll
find it here. If your organising something for the club, or have any sort of announcement,
then let Phil know and it can be posted here for all the world (and Neath Marlins
members) to see.
From this
section of the site you'll also be able to find links to all the best
dive-related websites out there. If you've got a favourite site or a
site of your own that isn't mentioned send us an email and we'll include
it here. Also if you have any dive related items for sale you can post
an advert in the classifieds.
Dear
Go Dive 2010 Coordinator,
Many
thanks for registering
your branch for Go Dive with BSAC 2010. The campaign is now live and
will run throughout the summer, giving you plenty of opportunity to
promote your event(s).
As
a Go Dive 2010 branch, you should have now received (or will shortly
receive) your registration pack in the post, which includes further
guidance on the campaign and running a go dive event, as well as a range
of promotional material for you to use.
If
you have not received your pack, please let me know and I will
send another one out to you.
Your
branch is now listed on the BSAC website as a Go Dive 2010 branch (
www.bsac.com/godive
) Don't
forget to also promote your Go Dive event(s) on the home page of your
own website!
Promotional
material
- if you need further supplies of the Go Dive 2010 flyers/posters (A5,
A4 and A3) please email me and I will arrange for more to posted to
you.
Registering
Go Divers... wherever
possible, we would like all participants to register with BSAC HQ so
we can evaluate the success of the campaign. If you get participants
approaching you directly, please also encourage them to still fill out
the online registration form at www.bsac.com/godive
. Alternatively,
you can email alexr@bsac.com
their name
and contact details.
Getting
the word out about your own Go Dive event
Recent
campaigns have shown that our branches' own promotion of their event
is one of the most effective ways of recruiting go divers. As a
result, the BSAC HQ team will be directly supporting all our Go Dive
branches in their local event promotion as well as promoting the campaign
regionally and nationally.
-
Make the most of your local media!
To
help you kick-start your Go Dive promotion plan, please find attached
a suggested Go Dive with BSAC press release template which you can easily
adapt to promote your branch's own Go Dive events - simply insert your
branch details where indicated.
If
at all possible, try to include one or two good quality images that
promote your branch and its diving or make them available to the journalists
if requested. (with consent from those included in the images). And,
if you need the Go Dive with BSAC logo, you will find it on a disc in
your Go Dive registration pack or you can download a jpeg at www.bsac.com/godivebranch
-
Contact Lists
I
have also attached a basic Newspaper Contact List for your region, which
you can use as a basis for your own distribution list. Please build
and develop the list to include your own local media by using the following
media contact websites:
www.mediauk.com
(this has
listings for local radio and TV as well as newspapers)
www.bbc.co.uk
(for your
local BBC TV and radio stations)
www.newspapersoc.org.uk
(this site
has a nice regional search function)
Further
guidance on generating press coverage of your Go Dive event is attached.
However, if you need any further guidance or assistance in adapting
your release, images etc or any general PR support please email
me at alisond@bsac.com
.
Good
luck with promoting your Go Dive event(s) – I look forward to
hearing about your media and PR success stories!
Best
wishes,
Alison
